How's My Driving?

  • Jun. 12th, 2012 at 1:36 PM
Eclipse Caste FTW!
Everyone needs a How's-My-Driving post, and OC's even more so.

How am I handling Ashoka? Is he descending into the depths of Marty Samism, or is he still good for a few luls? Should I come back when I am cooler, or do your ladies like him enough? Should I put up a copy of his character sheet, so White Wolf officianados can check my character-creation math? Hit me with your best shot.

Eclipse Caste FTW!
With all of the new activity going on, this may very well be the most auspicious time I ever get to make this announcement:

Let it be known that the Quicksilver Falcon is open for business! Conveniently located in the back of the Lux, first floor, and my thanks to the lovely Grace Holloway for the space. I am at present in the market for signs.

The inventory right now is mostly fish and crab and Mothers' Moss, but who doesn't need to eat and stay warm? Fish and crab caught fresh daily, free up to two pounds per person per day. Any more and I must ascribe a fee, and my currency is promises.

In addition, I have a small backstock of luxury items to barter, though due to availability, I must ascribe a heavier price to these.

So, World's End! Shall we do business?

buh?
Well, nothing kills my spirit for a holiday of love faster than . . . well, a killing. If I could write a groan, I would.

hangin' around
I have tried the cola machine. I don't think it's as good as tea. But then again, what is?

The hell you say?
I have one complaint.

We can't go fishing at the river?

Charming but not a prince.
It never fails, go long enough in this place and something that's interesting without being horrible will happen.

Action
Since I can now speak ill of the Fair Folk - excuse me, those swindling lying soul-stealing disgraces to merchantdom - it is clear to me that they have at some recent point, in some way, harmed someone, as they are apt to do, seeing as how they subsist by eating souls.

Who's going to help me kick some fairy ass?

Naw I'm a fucking Solar!
The carnival is run by Fair Folk from the Wyld - everyone, they may look beautiful, and they may seem kind, but really they're -

[Ashoka sounds like he's having trouble speaking. How unusual!]

--lovely people!

[Have some sounds of frustration, World's End.]

Remember what I said before, about the Fair Folk andhowtheyhavemanyinterestingandhelpfulitemstofairlytradeandsellMOTHER FU-

[Woah there, 'Shoka! There are children listening! Okay not really, but still.]

Be - attentive when you bargain with them. Choose your words and listen to theirs with the utmost care.

Otherwise, they will eeeeeeachgiveyoumoregloriouswondersandbetterdealsthanyou'veeverhadinyourlifeSONOFA-

Dayum
Does anybody know if the lobstrosities are on the beaches year-round, or are they seasonal?

A few of you have probably seen some racks of fish set up around the city to dry. A few of you have probably been eating some of them too, but cut that out. Those are for winter, not snacking. These are just the beginnings of what we can store up before the river freezes - if it does - if we begin fishing in force. I have plenty of nets, but only two hands, and I could use the help.

Oh, and Avari - if I asked you very nicely, may I trouble you for a spear? I'd gladly make a trade.

Brooding
I always sing my little Sadiqua the same song each night for a week before I leave for a sailing trip. When she was smaller - when our father had very recently died, sometimes the song made her cry, but never me. She had to learn about wanting to stay, but needing to leave. She had to learn that I would always return to her side with the turning of the leaves.

What a promise I have broken to her.

Tonight, for the first time, Sadiqua's song brings tears to my eyes.
